Feb week 1 Slow rewards, long term goal

Feb: week 1

Slow Rewards: It's taken a month but I have lost 3 kilogram = 6.614 pounds - it's a slow reward but it is a reward and I am happy to take it! This was never solely about weight loss  - so it's all good.
I have however noticed my body shape is slowly changing - of course this won't be obvious to others till further down the track - but I love it!

Long Term Goal: I needed to change my lifestyle - get fitter and loose the weight. That is the reason I chose to join Jetts Gym as opposed to just going on a diet - For less than the cost of going to Weight Watchers per week I can get 24 hour Gym access to Jetts plus a work out plan and nutrition advise from Jetts fabulous staff.

Jetts support is amazing, Ultimately though it is up to Me ... and I choose to go for it.

Week 4 The Hardest Part

The Hardest Part

For me ....sometimes that's getting ready to go to the Gym!

Once I'm at Jetts I'm fine and I get stuck in - but the transition from relaxed dress mode to getting ready for the gym can be a tortuous mind game.
What I need to do for my long term benefit vs what I want to do in the moment for enjoyment and no gain. Luckily, I have a conscience who is a bit of a health nut at the moment☺
Thank God for minor miracles and the ability to have a second thought. After I've been to Jetts I feel so great I really wonder how I could have thought about not going!

So, if you get into that  " I'm not sure I can be bothered today " mind set - put on your sneakers and gym clothes and go to the gym. Really, that's the hard part done - because once you're there, may as well stay and exercise, right....
Before you know it you are heading home feeling a ton better because you have kick-ass attitude and staying power!

Week 3 - Unstoppable Me

Unstoppable Me !

Who is Unstoppable - Me, that's who ..!!!

Last Thursday night I miss-stepped going down stairs to bed and badly twisted my left shoulder - it was really sore so I went to the doctor and was sent for an X-ray and told to rest the arm for a week. I had to have a slink to prevent the arm swinging while walking - Trust me - As simple as it sounds - without a sling it is very difficult to stop your arms swinging when walking!
Also - my sneakers broke same darn week!  The soles came unstuck and I tried gluing them but one worked  so-so and one didn't work at all. Not to worry, I ripped off the torn sole as the flapping sound it made whilst walking drove me nuts!

So... There I was - one arm injured and unable to do rep workout and using sneakers that should have been binned. What did I do?  I carried on - that's what !
Well, years ago this would have been my "get out of exercise jail card" - not my fault, shit happens but I can't exercise at the moment. Shame.....

NOT THIS TIME! ....  Arm in a sling, I walked down to Jetts and used the treadmill for an solid hour . Admittedly I had to walk slower and hang on to the rails so my arm wouldn't swing - but at least I got my A into G - back in the Gym. For that -I have to give myself a bit of a pat on the back.
I am going to save up and get a new pair of sneakers too, in the mean time these ones will do. I just pray it doesn't rain too much as I'm not too sure how waterproof they are now.
Jetts won't quit on Me and I refuse to Quit on Myself either !

Week 2 equals Changes

Week 2 = Changes

Changes are really happening - Good Changes at last!

I can feel the difference Jetts is making in Me = Hallelujah...!!

1. Energy levels have increased tenfold - And my head is in a different Mindset = Going up the steps at home no longer feels like climbing Everest. And when I want to fetch something from downstairs - I've gone and fetched the item in the time it used to take me to think about how far away the item was.

2. I can see significant changes in my body shape to know I have lost weight = clothes are looser and I can move in them more freely. However I am sticking to my promise of weighing myself ONCE a MONTH so the next weigh-in isn't till Feb. I am looking forward to getting a nice surprise on the scales :)

3. I eat a lot more carefully but am not so strict that I put myself off keeping this regime up. I have learnt that if I want a treat it's better to have it and get it out of my system - them I can move on.
Otherwise I end up loosing the motivation to keep going.
It's more important to give in today and carry on tomorrow - than abstain today and quit in a week  which has happened to me in the past. This is a Lifestyle - not a Diet Jail Sentence.

Besides - I always make sure I burn off 100 calories in my Cardio routine alone so it's all good!

Measurements

Waist: 128 cm  ( 50.39 inches)

Butt:    123 cm  ( 48.42 inches)

Weight: 103.8 kg (228.839 pounds) (16 stone)

Every Month I am going to record my measurements and photos. I have tried and failed at many diets over the years and became too concerned with what the scales said....

I made a promise to myself to use the scales ONCE a MONTH and accurately record the details here.
I will get Craig the Manager of Jetts Gym to record the weight and measurements with me so there is a true Authentic record of everything.

Roll on February to a newer me.....with better stats & pics!!  Can't wait, Rose NZ
